We are so proud that this year Ukrainian Bloor Fest concert was opened by the Crimean Tatar “Qirim Yallisi” (Wave of Crimea) ensemble. Our guests came from New York to walk with us at the parade and participate in the festival. The ensemble under the direction of Zulfira khanum Asanova, the daughter of the famous actress Aysha Dittanova, performed a Crimean Tatar song and the fiery dance of Hajtarma .
At our exhibition booth, people had a chance to try freshly-brewed Crimean Tatar coffee and our delicious traditional sweets. We also collected signatures to advocate for the release of Crimean political prisoners unlawfully detained by Russian Federation. This gave the visitors an opportunity to express their support for our cause.
